This Chinese New Year marks the 20th year of the Singapore River Hongbao. This long-time favourite showcases the best of Chinese culture.
Towering over the Singapore River Hongbao grounds at the Esplanade Park will be a 20-meter high ‘God of Prosperity’, which will literally sprinkle gold dust onto the crowds. Mini floats will be paraded every night across the festive grounds, which will be decorated with fairy lights and lanterns. There will also be exciting staged performances, including Taiwanese acrobatic acts, traditional Chinese folk dances and performances by a song and dance troupe from Chongqing. In addition, a pictorial exhibition showcasing the 20-year history of the Singapore River Hongbao will also be on display.
Look out also for traditional crowd favourites like the display of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs, kiddy rides, handicrafts and food bazaars, or make a wish at the ever-popular Wishing Well.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Singapore River Hongbao, spectacular fireworks displays will take place every single night!
