About Us - The Toa Payoh Adventure Club!

I thought I would start this forum seeing that there are some of you out there who like adventure and may want to meet up with like-minded people!
Just a little about this club I belong to:
The club started a long time ago in the 1970s by a few friends. They wanted to share their passion for this sport, and started the B.A.C (Basic Adventure Course) for people who want to know more, but don't know when or how to start. This course eventually evolved to the B.O.A.T (Basic Outdoor Adventure Training) course that still runs once every two years.
But besides the course, we also organise local activities, courses and overseas treks - from abseiling to kayaking courses to urban treks to picnics. Also have stuff like malaysian treks or ice climbing.
We are not high profile (most people hardly hear about us, although we have been around so long!), we don't publicise, we are not really 'hard-core', we are just a bunch of people who want to have fun. We organise our own trips, get some people who wanna go, Basically as long as there's enough people interested in something, we're off to have fun!
We welcome beginners, novices, lao jiaos to join us! Our age range is massive... youngest is 15.. oldest is 50. But I guess our passion spans any generation gap!
You don't need to pay any membership to join us. Though PAssion card members enjoy a discount for our courses/programs that you need to pay for. (Since we operate out of Toa Payoh Central CC) We also have free programs la!

Err yeap! We are based at Toa Payoh Central CC which is opposite the Toa Payoh Library...
There is an Adventure Resource Centre there for anyone interested in Adventure, travelling, backpacking etc. -
I'm actually just about to leave my place (Tampines) and walk all the way to the Merlion and back with my friend.
We missed the route march days... so we're packing our bags and making sure it weighs a little.
It is also an effort to lose weight

hehee no... its just a library... with reference books. You can borrow the books if you have a PAssion Card!
The CC don't have a rock climbing wall.. (yet!!!) but we have abseiling facilities..
Pop by one of these days to take a lookie ba! Its usually open on Weekday nites, CJC students volunteer to 'man' the station.
