That's assuming the remaining people live the same way as people in developed countries do today. I'd much rather have the six billion people stay and have a paradigm shift instead.

Anyway back to this topic of over population.So what are the probable solution? Developed countries are the ones causing the most environmental headaches.If things gets too futuristic could we limit a household to having only one Car,TV,Fridge.......etc?

nope... what is necessary is for the gabraments in the world to stop pandering to flawed economics and face the problems...
short term "economic gains" which will cause the destruction of the planet should be seen for what they are...
a phasing out of bad technology to sustainable technology must be done.. even if it is painful now, it'll be more painful or even fatal later...
to have the balls to not bow down to corporate pressure groups or lobbyists.. or in the US, to outlaw lobbyists outright...
thing is, all know what the right thing to do is, but no gabrament has the balls to implement it... even when the people want it...
