  it's called song4 zi3 lai2 feng4 qiao2
  ("sends-son-delivers-daughter-bridge" )
  for newly married to walk
  if they want a daughter
  just walk together on the side without steps

  I suppose you were on your own, free n easy? Did you spend 7 days in SH alone? All on eating and shopping?
  
  It looked quite bright hor, like not too cold?
  
  And did you see any homeless or beggars in the streets?

  yes it was a free and easy trip
  first 2 days and last 1 day i was on my own
  the other 4 days i was with friends
  
  it's very easy to go places in shanghai
  because of common language
  and cab fare is cheap
  
  it was not cold even though it was winter
  
  got see a few beggars but not too many
  
  i was in the city
  everything was just so fan2 hua2 and nice
  there may be poor/er people but maybe they are in the suburbs/countryside
  
  must go SH!
  eat, shop, sight-see (there are 6 water-villages ie. own towns built by the river, xitang in my pictures being one of them), visit museum/s, go for hair-wash with 15-min neck and back massage (only S$3.60 ), body massage (S$11.60)...

  The other things in SH that I'm interested in would be the quirky shops that sells unusual stuff...e.g. whole shop sells nothing but chopsticks, etc. and of course the food.
  
  Ya, things are cheap to us bec of the exchange rate. I had a hair cut in Kunming before and the hairdressers are very good! But I skip the massage coz I'm too ticklish.

  yah i saw a shop that sells nothing but chopsticks
  along nanjinglu which is the main shopping area
  but it was VERY expensive...
  so i walked out

  I did not go to xi tang.. I went to zhou zhuang.. zhou zhuang is a more famous shui xiang i think.. the other shui xiang i went to is at wu zhen.. that is significantly smaller though.. zhou zhuang got a lot more things to see..
  
  shanghai is good la.. because from there can go to a lot of other places.. the jiang nan lu xian.. hangzhou, su zhou, wu xi, nan jing, etc..
