you can get them from the science centre if i am not wrong, i bought some insect eating plant before at their shop, if i am not wrong, it should be the venus fly trap plant.

I bought one insect eating plant at their shop also but never grow ley , sow the seeds in the coco peat medium they provided but 3 month liao still never grow out . It is not venus flytrap but rather is another insect eating plant called sundew whereby it will produce dew like glue to attract and glue the insect while the leaf will curl up the insect slowly to digest it . If yours grow please tell me how to make it sprout ok ?

I'm very sure my venus fly trap are geuine one because when i bought them , they still have 4 traps closed with insect inside , and the trap really open after 1 week with the insect skeleton inside . The only possibility i know is maybe i gave them too much water nia cos i scare i forgot to check on them and they dry out . Those who want to see it in action can search in youtube , i saw the video clip before pple feeding the venus fly trap .

each leaf has a 'lifespan' so it can close for maybe 4-6 times after which it becomes a normal leaf, won't close anymore but will still have chlorophyll etc etc
so if u trigger the leaf often by touching it artificially, the leaf will use up a lot of energy to close (but dont get the energy replenished cos no insect) -

Is it possible to overfeed it ? Do i have to force the plant to dormancy ? Cos this venus fly trap have to let it go to full dormancy ley but i very scare after let it go dormant it will die off

ya stop touching them it is not compulsury for the flytrap to feed on insects. unless u catch the insect (not using repellent hor) then u can try.. else making them close artificially can kill ur plant in the long run.

Your sundew got produce any seeds ? If have can give or sell to me cos maybe the science center one too old liao . , fresh seeds is always the best . Why don't you trim away all the big leaf then let it go to dormancy for 3 months in your fridge then bring it out agn ? Maybe that will rejuvenate it .

didnt dare lor tt time to put into dormancy so let it.. 'ownself live ownself die' -
Why don't you give it to someone else to grow ? Since you don't bother abt it anymore .

Well you can actually feed live insect to it or you can place the plant at a place where there are some insects to allow it to trap it naturely , and well i don't mind to get another plant if you don't mind but not now as i am planning a long vacation to canada to visit my sister . So i'm actually worried for my own plants now lor but i've decided to put it into dormancy for the first time to try if it will die anot . If it doesn't die , then maybe i will get sundew plant to grow also and if you don't mind giving me your plant i would be glad to take it lor . Cos its a good pest control for me .
