How long does a tortise egg take to hatch ?

Hi all , erm does anyone here knows how long does it take to hatch tortise eggs ? And is there any way we can help them hatch the eggs safely and surely ? Because i saw a wild tortise digging a hole below a tree i presume to lay eggs . I waited 30 mins to see it lay eggs but sadly after 30mins , it is still digging . As the sky is getting dark and so does my tummy which is growling badly , i left it . I thought of going there to dig out all the eggs to help it hatch safely then return it to the lake or sea . Does anyone here know how to ? Please reply thanks .

Huh? Oh dear oh no. You better get some help because there might be alot more baby tortoises than you can handle.
I'm not sure how long they take to hatch, but it should be alright if you don't dig them out of the hole. After all, the hole was dug for them.

the process of breaking out of the egg, digging its way out of the sand hole and crawling down a long and treacherous stretch of sand is important for the baby tortoise. its like how you cannot help a butterfly come out of its cocoon or it wont have developed wings.

I contacted ava but the way the man told me macam he find me very bo liao like that he tell me " if you were to dig the egg out , you will cause damage to the eggs so it is not advisable to dig them out because you need special equipment to hatch them , and usually we only protect the endangered spieces so normal red ear slider we would advise you to let it as it is . If you insist on saving them , you can contact the jurong toewn park which is in charge of the area there but they also dun have the proper equipment to hatch it .
