However, it is very difficult to find and in order to deal with the 500,000 letters he is sent every year he makes regular visits to the Arctic Circle, near the town of Rovaniemi, Finland. -
Father Christmas has almost forgotten how old he is and at approximately 400 years of age he still reads the letters but needs a little bit of help with all the post. -
Volunteer elves come from all over the world to work at the busy post office. -

Letters come from every country in every language. The children of Poland, Japan and Great Briain write to Father Christmas the most. -
Many elves work to complete the main procedures of Christmas, such as looking after reindeer and dealing with correspondence. "I have helpers all over the world where goodwill and the spirit of Christmas is living," explains Father Christmas. -
Visitors can also send their own messages and cards from the post office, all of which get the official Father Christmas stamp of approval. -
His Artic Circle base is easy to find, so children can meet Father Christmas in person. Ella, 6, and Oona, 4, from Ylojardi, were so happy they sang a special tree decorating song. -
Once all the wishes are processed Father Christmas still has one more job to complete - delivering all the presents. -
