Young Chinese Malaysians light candles during the Lantern Festival in Kuala Lumpur September 18, 2005. The Lantern Festival is celebrated by the Chinese on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, with children go out at night carrying bright lanterns. In ancient times the lanterns were fairly simple, with only the emperor and noblemen had large ornate ones. But in modern times, lanterns have been embellished with many complex designs, such as in shapes of animals. REUTERS/Bazuki Muhammad
