In pictures: Second day of violence in Iraq

A day after the bloodiest day of unrest seen in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003, there has been a fresh wave of attacks. -
In the worst incident a police convoy was attacked by a suicide car bomber in the Doura district of Baghdad, killing and injuring police and civilians alike. -
The force of the blast ripped the body armour off the members of the elite security unit travelling in the vehicles. -
Police were the target again in Kirkuk, where a roadside bomb was used to deadly effect. -
Even mosques do not provide safe haven. In Mosul the yard of this one was covered in blood after the imam and his sons were killed by a bomb. -
Meanwhile the relatives of those killed in and around Baghdad on Wednesday buried their loved ones. -
As the worst attack targeted labourers looking for work many of those killed were young men. This boy's 23-year-old brother was killed. -
As well as the personal loss, many families face the financial loss of their main bread winner.
