Yup, take care not to stock up your tank too quickly... for sensitive fishes try running the filter on an empty tank of water for a month before adding the first fish.. to allow the nitrifying bacteria to build up in the tank first.Originally posted by dragg:yes.
clean your tank throughly with salt.
then run a new tank of water for a few days.
how about showing us a picture of your complete tank?
Hmmm.. dun think it's a good idea to use bleach or for that matter, any soap for fish tanks.. cos u can never be sure that all residues have been washed off.Originally posted by bismarck:will post pics later.

because i isolated them in other bottles for meth blue treatment,
i immediately treated the tanks.
ran the pumps and air pump minus the filtering material in bleach for a while before washing it thorougly with warm water then running it with tap water to clean off residual bleach.
thought of baking it in the sun but plastic cannot.
thinking of getting other fishes...

If possible, set up a separate tank as a quarantine tank.. any new arrival goes into the quarantine tank for ~ 1 week, as any latent disease the fish may be carrying will manifest itself in this one week. Transfer the new arrival to your main tank only if it has proved to be healthy and feeding by the end of the week.
