I've seen some goldfishes which have really disproportionately fat and puffed-up bodies with small fins, all struggling to swim... the wonders of hybrid breeding..

wow so ur gonna upgrade to a 6feet tank if it grows tat big???Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Yeah, they frequently grow to 2 feet in captivity... then i'll need a super big 6 feet tank liao..
But they're generally very inactive creatures anyway, i practically need to drop the food right in front of them before they'll bother to snap at it..
As for the puffer, i've had him for over a year liaoz, i think the trick to rearing pufferfishes is to add a bit of marine salt in the water, to create 'half-concentration seawater'. They seem to be healthier and have a better appetite like that..
I used to keep the puffer with a moray eel.. they'll always fight for the live shrimps that i throw in to feed them.
heh, i see how first lor...Originally posted by BabyLover:wow so ur gonna upgrade to a 6feet tank if it grows tat big???

I like to keep fishes too, one of my fav pastimes is to visit aquariums and also read up on the different fishes either online or in the library.
Btw, do u have any 'good' aquariums to recommend? As in large variety, healthy stock, reasonable prices...
I like to go to this particular aquarium in Clementi that has many different kinds of rare and wierd fishes, like the electric eel, electric catfish, sturgeons etc..
