My probation in my current Job(3month) ending soon..by 01Jul, I will be a Full-Time Perm Staff.
Shd I ask for a pay-increasement aft dat?
New Staff jus came in same pay as me, irregardless they gt experience or not, whereas I gt experience oso got e same pay.
Summore now super understaff, den gt many stress from work, from e time I work till now, already 7staff left liao(part-time n full-time). I belive they quit as they cannot take e stress it le....
short of manpower = Workload increase = stress increase but pay still so little....
I read thru my employment letter, it state clearly aft probation, my pay will stay e same. So there is noway for me to ask for pay-rise aft dat ah? Can tok it out wif management?
Oso if now i quit, I can resign within 1wk, whereas aft my probation, as a full time, I mus hav 1month notice...so hw? Shd I clarify wif management 1st b4 i bcum fulltime.
Main dispute is dat I felt I shd deserve more, wif my experience...
So hw??

Dear Ah Gene,
You want to leave because you felt that you deserve more. It's very common for people to change jobs nowadays because they felt that their vision is not in line with the organisation's. There is nothing wrong with that. Just a few considerations for you:
1. Given the current job market, your qualification and experiences, how much pay do you think you can really command? Honestly.
2. How much you are worth is not what you think you are worth. It's the people paying you.
3. Do you like the working environment?
4. What are your prospects in the company?
5. What is the pay structure like? If everybody is drawing the same range of pay, you can't expect to break their structure right?
6. Workplaces are more or less the same. Low pay, lousy hours, lousy boss, etc. These may not be the same everywhere. However, due to human beings' inability to be contented with life, and their tendecy to complain on just about everything, no job is perfect for most people.
Last but not least, if you are truely unhappy at your current workplace, by all means go and find a new job. Good Luck

u need to also consider the new skills and experience u acquire if u continue to stay with ur current job.
relevant skills and experience can command higher salary when u job hop next time
