thats what my parents told me.
i went to down when my gran was discharged and the patient beside her was also going home on the same day and i noticed this huge scar on her right knee so i guessed a certain surgery was done.
a few days later on the way home, i casually asked my sis whether my guess was right and she just muttered "yes......."
and my parents quickly joined in the fray, telling me " see! i was right wasnt i ? i knew u have a talent in medicine, stupid of u to refuse going into meds"
i kept quiet.
when i told this to some classmates, they burst out laughing. why?
it doesnt take a PhD to tell that what surgery that was.
i mean it just takes, some basic background in science/biology OR some careful observation, some educated guess, common sense OR a bit of general knowledge to know.
take a guess,
1) huge scar on knee (observation)
2) old lady with pre-existing walking difficulty (observation)
3) joint replacements are common for ppl of her age( general knowledge and background)
educated guess to conclude 'knee replacement surgery'
i am not saying those who cant think of it are stupid but it's remotely in the same field i am in now. -

i mean, based on an observation then say i shld be doctor.
what if someone asks me how engine works and i explain to them, am i supposed to become a mech engineer ?
