What do you mean by "Stages of Change?"The "Stages of Change" consist of different stages which help identify where a person is regarding the change of behavior. It may relate to several different things such as smoking, exercise, etc. It consist of several different processes but it is divided into six main stages that are: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination. Each one of these phases or "stages" describes an individual's attitude toward behavior change. Each individual may not be in the same stage for each behavior because the transtheoretical model is specific to each behavior.
