Depends on how bad your condition is. You will need to see a specialist in this case a psychiatrist to access your condition to see whether you are fit to serve.Originally posted by somepersonlah:Bah...
i think i regret hinting i have social phobia during the questionarres in the PC at CMPB...the one where they ask u alot of Qs.. like do u smoke and what nots..
i wonder how they all will treat ppl with such condition..
Maybe downgrade?
ermm...rite now im anxious..
exactly dude..Originally posted by the Bear:you seem to be afraid of lots of things...
you gotta get out more, do more stuff... after a while, things become commonplace and you lose your fear of them and wonder why you were afraid in the first place...
be well yah?
i am sure it is rather frustrating for you and others like you, not to be able to do something that seem so natural to us.Originally posted by somepersonlah:u think we dont want to do that? its just that we cant..
but for us phobics..it all seem too damn hard..
but what u say is extremely true..
the more u do it, the more immuned to it ull be..
Its for psychological profiling and assignment of suitable vocations. Dont worry too much about it.Originally posted by somepersonlah:ai seh..
wad i mean is...y in the blue moon does the army want us to indicate we have this social anxiety?
i mean for what?
if we have it, so what?
what will they do to us?
i can bet my life for some one who has extreme social phobia may not even cope with the daily life there, interacting etc..and confirm he will be depressed and jump down building..
HI!Originally posted by wuming78:i am sure it is rather frustrating for you and others like you, not to be able to do something that seem so natural to us.
could you elaborate what you mean by you cant?
and seriously have you sought medical assistance?
Arrgghh!!!Originally posted by phobic:Its for psychological profiling and assignment of suitable vocations. Dont worry too much about it.
hm.. okOriginally posted by somepersonlah:HI!
yeah..socialising, interacting, joking with people, with classmates etc..and all these should be very natural to almost everyone..
but not us social phobics..thats what i meant by cant..
i give u an example..
anoerexics..
they believe they are fat when they are not..its a disorder..
for social phobics..we believe we are a boring, we are foolish, people look down on us..that makes us anxious when talking to people..its a disorder..
for anoerexics..
no matter how persuasive u are in saying "u r thin" they just cant stop it..
ok i give u another example..
there are some people who have phobias of cats..
cats to us are lovely, tamed, cute creatures..
but for those who have cat phobia..it is just an uncontrollable urge to move away from them..they are scared of them, they panic when they see cats..
its the same for social phobics..
the small difference is just that we get anxious of how ppl think of us..are we gd enuff for them..etc..we panic, we run away..all these kinda things may cause depresion..
it affects our lives greatly..it chokes..
Your performance at BMT is more important. You can still make it if you do well.Originally posted by somepersonlah:Arrgghh!!!

You will make plenty of friends in NS.Originally posted by somepersonlah:ok wuming..
i tell ya something..
its degree of seriousness is to the extend that u have none or 1 or maybe 2 friends...
2 yrs ago, u guess, how many friends did i have?
1..
hard to believe? believe it..
others are aquantances who are "c u, bye bye" kinda friends"
people feel EXTREMELY uneasy with us that they seldom get near us..
due that, social phobics think that they despise us...
and all these become a snowball effect..
hm.. ppl feel uneasy with u, and hence this affirms your belief, or inferiority complex, and perpetuates the vicious cycle.Originally posted by somepersonlah:ok wuming..
