JPod - Douglas Coupland

The book is described as "very evil" and "very funny".
I agree.
A company with a gaming section has 6 people working for them in a section which has been termed JPod. All 6 of them have J in their names and thus begins the tale of insanity, murder, mayhem, gore and computer gaming.
Our hero has a dysfunctional family with a real-estate brother with no redeeming features, a mother who cultivates marijuana in the basement and a father whose lifelong dream is to have a speaking part in a movie, tv, anything.
Throw all that together with a Chinese mobster, a commune lesbian activist, a mad boss, and a zillion ways to skive off work, you get JPod.
Silly rollercoaster of a read. Appeals to the subversives out there.
4 out of 5 for insanity.
