I got the book and it's really nice. Among other things from the pre-independence times, Julian talks about his family amah, the old airport, the architecture and Malayan train services. Plenty of insights about life then...if you used to watch 'Sight & Sound' on Channel i (it was hosted by the author) the style is familiar.
