i heard turtle soup good for health
must eat more, tonic soup

the really good one is from tai seng in the 80s. i think they have relocated to .. i dont know the street name. i think it is somewhere opposite kallang MRT. -

from this thread can see alot of people still love turtle soup... wonder if there is a Turtle Soup Association where they can come up with a more humane way of slaughtering the turtle.... i dunno about what health benefits turtle soup has but i found out that boiling monkey's heart with certain herbs is good for asthma

Actually it is very difficult for everybody... If a cat or dog come to your house to s hit every day, you won't like it and what to do,clean the mess and try to catch the animal.. say ambush and get hold of the cat or dog what would a normal person do ? They gonna hurt the animal. Sway sway SPCA saw and they can sue.... But in the case of turtle soup, SPCA is powerless unless they can prove inhumane treatment.... Actually human is a very pathatic animal too... some love animal some don't, some love turtle soup some hated it ..me, love it but cannot take it ... worst right ?? I'm not into exotic meats..
N i would not personally order shark's fin soup..
But i still do love my usual meats.. beef.. chicken.. pork.. duck.. veal.. yummy..
Haiz.. killing animals for their meet is part n parcel of life.. to feed ourselves.. hmm.. i tink i might have the chance of killing a wild chicken or sth...

i used to take turtle soup too.. didn't think much about it until...
then I went to the zoo.. and its like i figured for the turtle to grow to a size
that we can EAT, it's been probably living for YEARS.. plus
turtles are really long lived... its not like they die naturally after a few years
but if nobody touches them, no disease nothing, they can really live for hundreds of years
and that's.... kind of creepy.. knowing you may be eating something
that have lived on this earth
longer than you... uhh..
plus if you have been to chinatown market
and seen the turtles kept in dirty, unhygienic and tiny containers
where they can't do anything except float because there is no space....
and at the abovementioned chinatown market
as for frogs.. they dont just bang them on the head
they bang them on the head, skin them
and leave them still breathing lying on the board
until some auntie wants to buy them, then they get chopped. -
