Will u stay in Singapore for the rest of your life?

i would wish to retire somewhere else... not that SG is expensive (it is EXpensive anyway...) but, i always fascinate to live in a different place... the experience is what i hunger... but perhaps i can do that by doing a job that requires residence in overseas... but chances are dim..
i went to europe twice and the people there are indeed warm, friendlier, more 'human'. but perhaps, that is because i am a tourist. if i were to become a PR over there, i wonder how they would treat me, a second class citizen.
a friend of my wife studying in canada initially had plans to stay for long but after two years, decided to come back for good. Its just different, she quoted.
i wouldn't mind though, being despised by the locals. Not all sheeps are black. As long as i can make a few good friends and retire in a different climate... it would be good.. my ideal would be the countrysides of italy, or london... but london is so darn X...
China, perhaps? when i retire, i believe China would have become one of the economic powers... who knows perhaps then SG would be cheaper to retire...

can't forsee the future... though it would be a good experience to stay overseas. Maybe i will (if ever can), go overseas to stay for a few years then come back to Singapore... afterall, this is where I grew up, got my education, where i belong...

one thing i notice is that most ppl think that when we move to other countries, the locals will despise us n discriminate against us. in reality, i think its more our own in born fear really, from the fact that being in sg, u're despised by yr own govt, and thus u think if u're a citizen n u're already despised by your own country, wouldn't it be worse overseas? but i found that, that is not so. ppl here are simply wonderful, and i have not been discriminated against at all. in fact i find that sg ppl are more discriminatory than many ppl overseas, and honestly the only time i hear myself called a "chink" is when i refer to myself as one.

I too have doubts about those who scream racial discrimination after they've moved. Even as a majority race in Singapore, I've experienced racial discrimination too. You can't escape from it.
