The end of teenage years

I'm still in denial...I'm going to insist I'm "19 and a bit" even when it's my birthday*. That is until I actually turn 21.
*One month minus-a-day away
I've had my modicum of fun, I took my chances to do interesting jobs, and developed my talents...while doing well enough academically. I dare say I don't have any regrets.
What was it like for you? -
I wish I could remember.....20 yrs. old? It seems like a 100 yrs ago.

I can still remember the morning of my 21st birthday.
One of my men called me on my handphone while I was still sleeping....
'Hoi, Sergeant! You're 21 already right? Come, we go Golden Mile and watch R21 movie!!!'
I quickly hung up and continued sleeping.

I remember I was on a 5 day exercise in Tekong when i turned 21 .... I remember staring up at the moon at mid-night somewhere near Dongra bridge while cradling my rifle .....
fortunately the boss wasn't entirely inhuman, and gave me an off pass after the exercise was over ... -
