Electronic brake i40

Any bros here driving i40? My i40 new less than a year but this electronic brake is siao siao one. put neutral or park then activate the electronic brake. put back to D mode n release foot brake. ...electronic brake still on. behind honing liao ....lol happen a few times a day... sometimes no problem. ...knn these electronic gadgets. ..still prefer the old fashione hand brake

Kim chi car is like that one lah. Nothing beats the reliability of a Japanese car. Even conti car also problem.
Btw i40 got electronic brake? Any pic? Maybe is the button problem?

I just started driving i40 2 days ago so far never face tis prob
was told to pull it 3 sec then release wen apply
moving off just step accelerator
during the handover briefing the Hyundai guy told us

If 2 days got problem, then better throw key, and take back those older sonata, no penalty -

i40 and many newer cab have this popular control known as cruise control, but most taxi companies took it out, cruise control is good in NSHW cruising, taxi companies worries that cabbies might end up cruising all the way to heaven, so they took it out, end up, I less business, nabey. -
Problem might arise when they took out this function whereby the software is not up date, this led to erratic brake control at times. Electronic brake is not a safe brake, it brake only the engine at the crankshaft flywheel, once you park, the electronic sensor will hold the flywheel, it do not brake the wheels, wheels are using hydraulic brake with brake pads. That is why when you park, you also need to pull up the handbrake to double secure the car from moving. Cruise control will automatically disengage when brake is pressed on.

At neutral, there is no brake, your car stop due to it weight, any knock on your back, you can move forward. You apply neutral only when the surface is flat. Today car work on mechantronic, a mix of mechanical and electronic, What happen here is the gear shift contact might have a problem, it do not read when you change, the chip board need to be check, mechanical wise, I believe the car brakes are OK

Is the moving off part. The brake still on when u release foot brake n press accelerator. If u encounter this, juz shift the gear back to P mode n then shift back to D mode....then release foot brake n press accelerator. -
Been driving i40 for close to a month. ...nvr will go back to sonata. Even my LED top display looks much brighter than the lok kok sonata

Wats the purpose of the auto hold button?
is the sport button really got power?
like no difference leh
then got tis eco appear after sport
tis for wat ah

Auto hold is good when moving off from a steep slope. Prius one simple. No need press any button. Just press brake pedel to max and the indicator will light up. After release the brake padel it will hold for 2 secs so car will not roll back.

Prius good thing is that, if you are not in a hurry, drive like mountain turtle also no problem. Especially with pretty pax on board, drive slow, start conversation with them also not bad.
Quiet car some more. Can even hear sonata engine from the outside.
If not happy, when empty teksi, haha. the real power comes when you press the power mode button and step the gas pedal. But dont be shocked when you go top up the gas, just to see your daily consumption increases. haha.

One of our Ex LV Member got a NEW i40, 9 mths Onli, Air Cond Bu Sai Liao, go repair less than 3 mths Rosal again.
Another Ex LV fan oso about one year car, Air Cond one month 3 time Problems.

sigh... this is because on your left hand side, below your 'finger handbrake', there is this 'Shift Hold' button, click to disable the electronic brake. This is good only when you are steep/upslope.
you not use to new technology, then don't take i40 la... take Sonata -

No lah, most went to indonesia, HK now also use pirus liao...when I visited Japan last month, they still use crown, but very new crown, seibei clean and tidy, but then, also seibei expensive

Crown lah, not Clown, you say HK Clown, they can sue you one hor. Most SE asia car make for SE asia usage is only design for our condition like weather, road and purposes. Other asian countries built can be different in way of their kerb weight, design and many other feature, like HK and taiwan are make more heavier so as to withstand typhoon or hurricane or any big wind, their top is also protected more with heavier metal or fiber against rain storm and other nature conditon
