U are right. Driving empty for more than 15mins better go coffee break or toilet break. Refresh up and try again elsewhere. Some times u just need to get out of one area to another than to keep circling around
night driving, it slows down after 2330hrs generally ...
day driving, after peak 0930 to 1400
this is not the time to stay around city or even outskirt, there are tons of competitor, sweep or queue all no no. Slow pick up, slow traffic, no surcharge............. CMI lar
Dead end at this hour is City, neither driver slowly, upwards to north and hope to get a pax that bring you upward (but most likely will bring you back to city).
Or go to the nearest Expressway, to Punggol, woodlands, choa chu kang....... there are many paxes waiting for you there.
Once there, use some skill to stay out of city till properly 1600
As for 2330 onwards...... hehe......this is where graveyard shift begin (properly CT can help in this timing), for me is lim kopi, par you and go home.

Can go hotels take tourist to zoo mah, tourists in big hotel like to wake up a bit late, then have a big buffet breakfast, by the time already 9++, gum gum I wait there, and if Q too long, can also go hotel toilet pang sai mah, free towel, free cologne...

so just to get pax, travel out empty to residential estates? and usually these pax sure go town type.
sometimes during office hours, late am, onwards, those with strong booking drivers, the WEST is a good place, though no $3 direct to pocket, the booking fees and less competitor means a sure eat deal, some go as far as town, least half island or all the way to airport
when you ae around clementi , can try go nearer to industrial areas, sure got job for u...
PERSONAL CONCLUSION - a 0600 - 1800 hrs shift vs a 1801 to 0559 hrs shift, the night shift makes more $$, less effort needed, less pax count but more value fares, but of course, more diesel burnt.
otherwise best $$ to be made is if a driver can drive from 1800hrs to 0930hrs, in between take a nap in the early am between 0300 - 0500hrs, clock all the peak hour timing, but such shift is only good for those that are single...

as no one can be sure where are the pax given the numbers of cabs around, much boils down to luck.
but i just feel places like redhill , tiong bahru and chinatown do not seem to work well for me. always cruise empty around there.
of course, the obvious popular places are always packed with other drivers...

Day driving, after 0930am, every trip is a trip.....
No skill, just pick and pick.....
Tio town, go find your favourite taxi stand to queue.....
Tio Tuas, park 1 corner and sleep, CDG will wake you up to chor kang.....
Tio Woodlands, before 12pm jiak beh liao, change shift "Woodlands", after 12pm, god bless you.....
Tio east side, my style, Airport sleep liao, before 12pm, T2, KL & Penang flight, very good, sometime can tio Tuas South, before 3pm, T1 or T3, after 3pm, suka you choose......
If really sway sway tio Sentosa, mai du liao, player/banker here I come.....

If flip underwear still can work, meaning still OBK with no pax, last option is to remove your underwear, fold it nicely and put it in your front left pocket, try it, you will believe in it.

Many hotels mah, but my favorite is fairmont, orchard, shangri la, hilton and oriental, you can also go marina shopping taxi stand there, can do banking also...lols. If not you can go esplanade, there also got good toilet, then can buy toast box bread n coffee...only for huat days. Then my chief like to go coconut tree, I go papaya tree, also good lah -

Shang is the best. Carlton Hotel can park at the back and enter from the back straight to the toilet, but day shift I dont know, wait kena summons. Usually churches are good places to go for it especially the newer ones.

When I lost my freedom, he was the one that give me discount for the dinner, that time, he was only a assitant manager, now already a GM oversee the operation. He also only Sex 4, but very hardworking man, end up he drives BM, I drive Toyota crown..lols, but he never look down on me, tho another race, sometime it is much better than own race.

Sure, I am a joker, those sit with me at kopitiam alway laugh and laugh, sure end up the most noisiest table..hehehe..when they gather alway look for me..but of course as I joke, I must also be able to take the blunt of critics, I believe if a person cannot take the critics, then better dun joke. Joking is a skill. That is also why no matter how people comments, observe and give negative critic about me, I never bother, because life to me is afterall, a real joke.For this I guess my former chief fail to learn from me, if he had learn to be able to take critics as a norm of life, he can be a good leader and that forum might still be around and booming.
