i think some places like One Raffles Quay has implemented no stopping or waiting policy. only at the allocated taxi bays, else move on and go detour.
in other words, either u reach the pick up location say on time or a mintue or two late..or do not take bookings from such places

Depend on timing also lah, knn, many potong jalan one on these places if you late by just 3 minutes, aiya, let me tell u a true story lah, as a old TD myself, I used to hv 2 good kakis for tea break at red hill close.Cannot join those at hoy fatt, all younger than us, talk also different frequency, but that is not the story here, one of my kakis is a like me, sweep and take calls wisely, one is knn, like to take calls most of the time, saying that drive cdg must take call, if not lugi, then last year, he was gone due to Cardiac arrested, I personally sent him to Kong Meng Shan, what transpired here is that, now we got only 2 for tea break, but also got some other oldies, but not real kakis.
We concluded in a way that taking calls is stressful unless you know when to take and not to take, because of the rush and the timming plus the agony of no show,,,etc, we get stressed more and our heart will beat faster.

the trouble is taking calls be careful!just last night wesak day,took a call at ivory hts that one at jurong east st 13!reach there very kan cheong,security guard open barrier i rush in,then didn't realise only one side control by security guard,the other is resident control auto.i thought it was auto and enter at center,suddenly one side barrier came down and bang my taxi,i got no time to stop,so barrier also bend.fcuk then force to pay $500 for spoiling the barrier!no discount given!just to earn tens of dollars end up lose hundreds of dollars!i now forever ban this place ivory hts!

Drive taxi don't kan cheong, the more we rush, the more mistakes we make..
Today you learn that Ivory Height Condo is like that, next time you will be more careful..

current booking, late by 5 mins or so ok... pax don;t really kpkb.
advance booking, u are screwed if u are late. once i was late for 10mins, pax took cab, reach journey, pattern come out already.
pay only normal fare, didn't pay the adv booking fare.
ONLY if i know such pattern will come out, i'll reject the fare, but hearsay can subject to lim kopi..
can play no show, cannot turn up late and then reject fare, this is what my kaki told me then
as u get more experience, u will know what kind of booking can eat and what to reject. don't give yourself stress, esp when u do not know the place well or the traffic to the pick up point can screw u up, unless u call pax directly to manage them

Why general public perceive TD is a job for uncles and older people.
TD in their early 30s seems surprised to many... and feel people at this age should be doing something better
