a cab driver had an encouter with a motorist last yr where e lady tried to squeeze in between him and e bus and then fell down on her own. She then claimed that it was the cab's fault tt she fell and made a 3rd party claim against him. There was no signs of damage on e cab and the cab company oso examined the cab and gave an official report. However, nw as the'victim' has brought e case up and insist that she be compensated and e case is nw under review by e cab insurance company. the cab company sent a letter to ask e cab driver to pay a 3rd party excess of $1000 and in event of any claims this $1000 would be used to offset e compensation. However, this is obviously a false accusation and the motorist oso haf no proof of e cab causin her fall. she did took some fotos of e position of e cab n motorcycle though. Does e cab driver need to compensate in tis case? Is there any legal actions that we can take against the 'victim' ?
Let the jury decides .
The false accusation will not favour this lady .
She crossed the road like that , which is not supposed to , u think the taxi comapny insurance will lan lan pay up ?
Also , in Singapore law , any injuries to any party , Police assistant is a must , and vehicle involve must not moved .
So in this case , Cabby is protected , cos there is no evident to prove that the taxi hit her .
If everytone can make a claim like that , then let me go and make a living out of it .
See a taxi , bluff bluff fall down , and make a claim from taxi drivers .
My taxi colleague , recently , also faced similiar issues .
It was a raining day ...
The Motorcyclist skid .... my colleague's taxi was just beside .
That motorist claim my colleague swerve and caused him to skid ....
What case is it ?
That was 2 months ago liao , taxi company also dun bother to recall my colleague's taxi for inspections .
I guess their lawyers knew how to tackle such issues .
No case la ... unless there is eye-witnesses to back his claim .
if no eye-witnesses , sorry , no deal .
If TS is the victim , i am sorry for you . You'll not get what u want .
Unless u really engaged top lawyers to fight the case .
If not , too bad .
The case dun favour you .
U crossed the road already consider illegal .
What case u talking about ?
As for the cabby , what u need to claim ?
U neither got injured , nor your vehicle got damaged .
Again , if u engaged good lawyers , u might just be able to do it .
hard to support to either one. there is simply not enough evidence/information to come to a conclusion.
but yea, falling down only mah. shouldnt do much damage. just take a smile and ride on! life would be much better and happier. why want to claim such a 'small' compensation??=/
Those peope think taxi drivers can makan ..... cos we scared , she is wrong baby .
ya i nt sure if it is illegal for her to try to ride thru in between e bus n e cab.. but apparently she managed to get her lawyer to submit a claim of 16000 over.. 3rd party claim w no injury... n thr is no proof of e cab causin any form of injuries or damage. I dunno y e taxi company wan to entertain her oso.. n wan us to pay e 3rd party excess of $1000. she think so easy can claim.. but haf to wait for e taxi company to confirm e verdict.
She crossed the road illegally .
And accidently fell ... with no injuries to anyone .
And no apparent damages to any vehicle .
And now she want to sue who ?
She is wasting time .
nvrmind let her claim thru lawyer , she rich ma .
I have heard many stories of lawyers who give you the impression your chances of winning is very high. then you keep paying fees for this and that. ultimately when the game is almost over, you will learn the sad truth.
Insurance money is not that easy to claim. The lady may end up with nothing and worse still, ended up being counter-sued.
