Confused ?
Confused ki lan la .....
What u want to do ?
Hirer ?
Relief ?
OMO ?
Okay now .... ur financial situation not so stable , go as relief first , cos Hirer must have standby rental in the bank account for Giro . U'll have a little difficulties as relief .
Take a bus to Comfort , asked for some Hirer's looking for relief listing ...
If can find one ..... call him .
Standby $30+ for registration .
If they ask u about Security deposit , straight away tell them instalments .....
Cos u lost your job . Really bo lui .
Instaments how long ? "Next week start $250 ......" , every 2 weeks pay $250 , then so on and so ...
Upon confirming as driver ....
Go find $30 two dollar notes ....
And $10 one dollar coin , the rest of the small changes , drink coffee time can change also can .
And if can , standby $40 ten dollars just in case pax pay u $50 .
$40 enuf , coffee shop always can change .
The more confuse u are , the more u waste ur time ....
Time is $$$$$ dear AxelC....u wasted too much time on rubbish issues , time to get things into perspective .
Stand up and be seen .

Aiya, I confused in which taxi company to join. Am set to be hirer for sure. But comfort tell me got to wait between 1 to 3 months even for Crown, let alone to say Sonata. Other than Comfort, the rest of the company I'm not too sure that's why check with you ma.

axelc, i believe you have read many threads here. Don't make yourself confuse. My advise to you is to go down to all the taxi company. Sit down and get their explanation of their latest offers and benefits. Don't commit instantly -- put down in your own comparison chart and i believe there will be one or two companies that suit your requirement.
If you have really no money for big deposit, Silvercab has one new scheme for newbie driver. You only put down $250 as deposit and the rest will be top up to $1 K. Better you go down and collect all informations and see for yourself. Comfort is bullshiting you, You can get a Crown anytime.
If you really need monies, then sign up with SMRT for 6 months and recover your course fees, medical fees, licence fees, etc.....to get all those incentives monies but you will be driving a Crown like Teolk for 6 months.
After that then you start to talk to all bros here and i believe everyone will have their own opinion and you still have to decide for yourself.

Yes Rotary bro, I have read many threads and I will heed your advice to go down to different taxi companies to decide for my future career path. What suits others may not suit me. Thanks for giving me this advice and I have a better direction path now and will put down in my comparison chart and not commit instantly.
Haha, I didn't know Comfort is bullshitting me. Maybe I really newbie or that girl is taking me for a ride but nevermind, it's Comfort's loss that they don't get a chance to employ me as their driver. But there are always bigger fishes out there in the sea... so here I go to maybe same as shifu poolie? Drive a red TransCab? haha... Then ALN will go @#@#$@*#$@#$Y@#$
Really thanks for your advice. Treat u lim kopi or teh some time when you're free ok?

i couldn't tell you what to decide. However, i think you don't have to go all companies. Forget about Prime and Smart. Prime 5 years commitment doesn't suit you as a newcomer. You need time to find out taxi life. Just compare comfort, smrt, silver and transcab for your own goodness. Because their offer and benefits keep on changing. Ask questions at taxi co and don't take things for granted.
What i tell you today may not be valid tomorrow anymore.
ok ...AxelC
Dun be too rush to be a hirer yet .
I suggest a plan ....
Cos TransCab need full deposit for hirer .
I suggest TransCab ...cos auto and they give the most money , and it's comfortable and popular .
U be a TransCab relief first .... like 3 months , cos relief can pay instalments .
So within 3 months , ur security deposit settle , right ?
Then 3 months expereince should be sufficient , then be hirer .
While waiting for the new Wish , hang on with the hirer .... until u get the key for the new wish ?
How about that ?
All win win win situation .
Driving for Comfort will die , cos Crown will kill you slowly , hahahahah
recently many Comfort hirer surrender their crown for the New Wish from TransCab .....
As a new bird , u need more monetary benefit to cover for the learning ladder steps .
Unless u are good enough , any cab will do , comfort basically is meant for Lao Gui like me , without benefits , it's ok .
Being a hirer , doesn't mean u'll get more salary than being a relief .
Bear this in mind .
I saw many new drivers , chiong OMO , in the end , they surrender , cos they are just not good enough . Not many will be like TeoLK , he's good that's all .
Nowadays , driving a cab no longer like before , any whack also can .Now really must be tactical and full of plannings .
Ur decision is crucial , i wrong move , will move you into more anxieties .
AxelC , night shift is the way to go really ..... for you at least .
Day shift u'll have got less to learn , cos on the road u have more competitions .
Not that night shift has got no competition , just that night shift it's easier to pick up , cos once u hit town at all times from 5pm to 12pm , join any Q , u very fast will get a pax , and from there u learn .
I started 4.30pm today ....
I end 3.30am from Seragoon Ave 3 .
I did $310 all in all .
My rental $45 , fuel total $34 .
My nett salary is $230 , for just under 12 hours .
And i maintain $180 collection almost from Mon to Thursady , cos to get $180 , my salary will be like nett $100 , for just less than 8 hours of work .
Wow , ALN just text me , $325 at 4.30am , still has got 2,5hr to go , he will get at least $380 tonight .
If u got ALN , TeoLK to guide you , 2-in-1 ....... u are in for a good time .
ALN is damn good at his stamina ... but he need more luck , he must go temple pray more .
Teo is good at timing ....plannings . OMO mental strength and desire is good .
I good at talk cock only ..... dun learn from me .
I am a fighter , many of us cabbies here are fighters .
We Certainly are not quittors .
Just be like fighters , like one of us , we will win the war !!!!
Go on do what u desire , our advise is just a piece of paper , how you want to write on it , it's up to you !
Always remember that u chose this path , u must be responsible for the choice , it's a simple justice to yourself , and your family , plus friends who supported you .
To me , u took just abit too long to get things done . I am not a diddy dally man , i chop chop one .
Chop chop ..... a new life awaits you my friend .
hi axel, when i was a newbie, i started out as a comfort hirer going omo. extremely bad move!!! first month was especially bad. i didn't have any problems with the driving part cos i have my own set of wheels for many years. but the learning curve for destinations & routes is really very steep and you gotta learn fast. in my first week there were days when i took home $20 after rental of $104.86 and diesel of about $40. also, i didn't know how to regulate my working hours, so there were days when i finished at 11pm and then couldn't wake up the next morning. i couldn't drive nights cos my night vision is poor, so out of necessity i have to drive in the day. it was only from my 2nd month when i managed to find a night relief that i settled into a work routine. that was back in end 2007 when the economy was still doing fine. it was all very demoralising and i was asking myself is it really so difficult to drive a taxi. it was also a kind of awakening for me when i realised that some people really do treat taxi drivers as the lowest form of life in sgp, maybe even lower than maids.
so what we are trying to say in this forum is that : newbie hirer = bad idea, newbie omo hirer = extremely bad idea. tiredness = high chance of accidents.
listen to poolie, "sit on the cow while looking for a horse". start as a relief first, build up your knowledge base and then consider your next move. don't be impulsive. good luck in your new career!
i think AxelC also need a huge loan. hope i am wrong.
i like to drive for fun but not retiree yet :(
Most quite happy and little bit successful cabbies , or hirer , they all started off as relief ....that summed all it up .
Happy and little bit successful driver is someone like me , driving a FT night shift , 9.30pm , at home watching soccer , enjoy life now .
Chelsea played like fuck hahahahahah....win $$$ to cover la , hahahaha
i swear to God i eat whatever Chelsea handicap this season .
Favourite , right ? Then bookies will pay for it .
