Students at driving centres have to logged certain amount of hours of driving to qualify to apply for test date. They pay exhorbitant money to practise 100 minutes.
We taxi drivers gets to practise 10 hours minimum a day almost everyday of the year.
You would think taxi drivers would be perfect drivers. But how come there's so many nincompoops out there who drive like they just pass.
How did drivers pass their highway codes? Do drivers have common sense?
but no one is perfect.
so why practice?
i would say they had adopted more bad driving habits than good habits .
Like a simple " signals " , no many want to use it .
Just dunno why ?
Other than that .. i am ok with most Sgp drivers .
Also , i hate road hoggers ... hogging the extreme right lane ( @90km/h ) at Expresssways , which is meant for over taking .
It's a bad habit .
I just hope TP booked them for driving @ 90km/h on the extreme right lane , at least educate them not to do so .
also i hate drivers to overtake me , cut into my lane , and slow down .
no offence to taxi drivers but I still spot some taxi drivers with no road manners at all..
True...

Think they do not understand the highway code (the basic and advance theories of driving, nowadays). The right lane is the FAST lane or OVERTAKING lane. If you want to cruise or go slow do it in the middle or left lane.
Any way hoping for TPs is futile. They rather hide and 'camera' you than chase and summon you. It is safer for them with all the undisciplined and non-sense drivers on the roads.

I know what you mean. You want to be courteous and give way to this particlar driver but when he's in, he just heck the care and go just below the speed limit and block you all the way.
The right lane is the fast lane. It means if I'm on the right lane and travelling at 120km/hr and there's a car coming up fast behind me, I WILL move left and let it overtake me. BECAUSE it's faster than me. Simple as that.

No offence at all. It seems practice does not makes perfect.
The attitude is wrong in the first place.

Ya , i also do that , lan lan one ... cos he's faster .
I also hate people high beam me .
Years ago, in a 'G' registered vehicle, a mobile TP stop me and asked me 'what am I doing in the centre lane'. I answered, 'overtaking'. straight away got slapped with a ticket because overtaking means going over the speed limit.
Now, with all these 'speed limited' vehicles blocking all lanes on the roads (not only expressways, emphasis on express) would I not fume when I cannot 'express' my way.

Overtake on the right. When on the extreme right lane, I would signal right to indicate my intention to overtake, if the driver in front gives way I would normally wave to say thanks if my speed do not need 2 hands on the wheel. If there's no response then I would flash my high beam to indicate my presense. But I would not high beam all the way, it is very rude.
Benefit of the doubt. I always gives way to vehicles faster than me (I'm almost always at 110 to 120 km/hr everynight). Who knows what emergency the other car has, seeing the face of the love one for the last time, rushing to give birth, in a hurrry to send someone to a doctor, or even rushing to meet death.....that is his perogative, I do not intend to block his way.
It is not the vehicle type in question, it is the driver's responsibility to himself/herself and to other road users. I have encounter good taxi drivers, quite a number I am happy to say. Notice the word 'encounter' and not 'encountered'. Everyone has a part!
