Just want your opinion, which taxi would you choose to rent as a hirer for Tanscab taxi?
Toyota crown? diesel now at 0.84
or
Toyota wish? runs on CNG and petrol.
thank you
If Crown on auto , cheap diesel , maybe i consider .
Now 2009 liao , manual ? It's a Auto generation !!
Whether or not CNG or petrol , auto for me .
CNG is better ...help keep the environment green , clean ...for our future generation .
Wish would be a good choice.
Operating costs does not seems to be significantly higher.
I am sick of the "roar" of the Crown.
But manual shift can be fun and involving other than traffic crawls.
who doesn't love the comfort of Wish,Stream,Axio,Fielder etc...
esp if like me driving in a noisy crown everyday on the rd admiring all the cng taxis
but what put me off is the availability of cng stations esp when i'm staying in the east.I wouldn't want to be queuing 2-3 times daily just to fill the tank
you have to decide this factor b4 getting a cng taxi
The X-factor for the automatic taxis , it's HEALTH .
U never get tired of driving , so relax !!!
On a Friday night , to drive a Crown , from 5pm to 1am , u are already " low-batt " , as for Sonata , ur engine just begin to get hot !!!
yo ALN,
I went to Transcab office, their crowns are pumping at 0.84 per litre.
thanks to all for sharing their thoughts and views.
Looks like its better to get a wish. I stay in west side, so its close to their cng station in mandai. Also, they say opening another station in toh tuck in a august.

yes , TransCab opening one station : World Biggest CNK refuel station !!!!!
Thailand one is 41 pumps .... TransCab 42 pumps !!!
Originally posted by ALN:wow 0.84…. comfort really knn wan….
whether wish or not, me also choose only auto gear…. matters a lot for long hours driving…. sonata is almost perfect if not for blind spots and high fuel consumption…
if got say altis auto diesel taxi then perfect liao…
Thailand all used Altis as taxis , on CNG or petrol .
CNG is the way , not diesel .
As far as Environmental is concerned .
Car on water ? Not in our generation .... maybe 2030 .....
today at the coffee shop , a Prime cabby , driving a Felder , sit with me on the smoking section , having his lunch , after his lunch , while smoking , we have a chat about the CNG vehicle ( i dunno him ) ...
He straight away said Felder and CNG suxs big time .
He said ..
1. When the engine is cool , the noisiness of the engine is unbearable , louder than any diesel engines . Needs 10 minutes to get the engine hot .
2. The AC Compressor kept giving him major problems . A must to off aircon before starting the engine . A must procedure ( in fact , all cars before start , must off aircon ) , unless is a Toyota Crown .
3.Not suitable to be on the road for more than 2.5 hours in one go , engine less powerful after 2.5 hours , solution ? Engine must be cool down for 30 minutes .
What if vehicle kept on going ?
It will caused the vehicle to be stall ..anywhere . Reason ? CNG issues .
He mentioned in Thailand , CNG vehicle will get the engine overhaul in 3 years , every 3 years , he doubt his Felder can last 5 years within his contract period without getting a massive overhaul .
Topping of CNG is a problem for him , who stay at Sengkang . So he relied alot on petrol until a refilling kiosk is near him .
Sounds like Felder and 1500cc , not really compatible for CNG in long run .
What about Wish ? Just wondering ....
maybe he saw the Serangoon North side refilling centre got infrastrcuture then he decide .
Originally posted by ALN:even if serangoon north opens, thousands of private cars from amk, bedok, houg, seng all jam up the kiosk liao…
true also ...
Originally posted by ALN:but he also strange…. stay sengkang still go and whack prime CNG???
sometimes i damn respect SMRT hirers ... yeah this chap ex-SMRT hirer , once the Prime gave the 5-yr benefit , he quickly sign up ...
I respect them in a way ... they are really determine .... i saw many OMO , drive 24/7 .... and still happy .
not really 24-7 , not much proper rest or family day . All his time and commitment , all into his profession or occupation .
Prefer the Wish...from passenger's point of view... spacious...
As for Toyota Wish CNG top up , has got specific timing and tactic ....
For me at night , i try not to go at 5pm , that is changing shfit timing .
Also 8pm , end of OMO timing ...
Since my CNG starting from 4pm to 8pm , still has got half tank , me still can stretch until 11pm , if 12am i am going home , then i'll utilised petrol for remaining i hour trip . Only 1 time refilling .
Friday night , then i will do it by 11pm , where it has got the least vehicles .
