How would you guys reacted & do?

Sometime 2wks back,I picked up 4 malay guys from boat quay at around 415am. They wanna go 3 desinations Thomson-Bedok-Tampines...When I reach Thomson I ask them the exact location as Thomson rd quite long stretch,they say just go straight,then suddenly ask me turn left into Mt Pleasant rd(for those who don't know,it is a very ulu road)
I sense something is wrong & I told them I will not go there,instead I drove towards AMK direction & do a illegal right turn to a Esso station,where I felt safe & I alighted.
I told them nicely that I can't con't the journey cos I'm worried abt my safety,& I will not collect a cent for the fare.
Then 1 of them show me his warrant card,4 of them are police officers! 1 of them is actually going to a chalet for police in Mt Pleasant.
I felt relieved seeing his warrant card & seek their understanding to this matter. Then I con't the journey. They're very nice people & we chatted all the way to tampines.
Just wanna seek opinions from senior drivers here my reaction...am I over-reacting?What will you guys do if you were me? Tks alot! :)

newspaper got put also... taxi drivers r robbed in the past and recent... -
smart move and nothing worng with wat u did...
better to b safe then sorry...
and Mt Pleasant is where the police academy is....
so haha

haha... i think if you pick them from busy taxi stand, unlikely got foul play... cos they cant choose to board older taxi cabby... but if you sense foul play, best to ask for exact location at boarding.... like that either you can reject earlier or if half way they change location u can reject before reaching there....

police academy is no longer at thomson. but most prolly heading to the senior officers mess.

next time hope nobody ask me go such ulu places aft midnite anymore,just imagine 3am a lady dress in white ask you go lck graveyard..OMG

Then u are the lucky one , i want also don't have .Then when in the vehicle , i ask for 4 lucky number , and humtum all my money into it , and will return her something she want .
Lady dress in white ? U mean ur vehicle never place any buddha statue or stuff like that ? or " HU " ? Or a Bible if you a X'tian la ...... hahahahaha .

maybe there's more cabbies who did that the same , but i first time hear from the cabby himself .... i'll never be that defensive , i never thought anything like that while driving .I always a lucky guy i guess .

Real Taxi guru, u got a right said. those who wanted to rob U will board at the ulu places oso, what I believed, for me I will do like poolman, send them to their destination, on the way try to chit chat to them, like try to joke to them," this way in is cemeteries'',then he tell u, inside got a Police HQ.something like that lar. I still think Sin is very safe, I only afraid of drunkard, Bcoz when they knock off, I dont know what to do, some more I still not familiar the routes. Kekeee...............

Maybe one big reason that i never be afraid of getting robbed or things like that was that my vehicle has got Security .... my MDT is linked with any patrol car nearest to me , once i suppressed the red button , once i alerted the in-vehicle SOS system , my taxi company , or the computer system , will alert the SOS to the nearest patrol car or police station , and they will come to my rescue .

When i have confidence , my expressions and body language shown all ...
And i believe , that self confidence can really scared off those robbers ... one thing i know , the robbers always prey on older drivers .
And i always believe , robbers are the most cowardly people on earth .
They fear you more than we fear them .
