Although I don't condemn the whole lot of taxi drivers out there when there is still some good ones. Personally I think they are the worst drivers in Singapore. As a road user, how often have u seen taxi drivers stopping abruptly in front of u, suddenly cutting into your lane just because there is somebody flagging for a taxi, causing u to slam hard on your brakes to avoid a collision behind. Purposely accelerating hard or driving very closely to the vehicle in front to prevent u from filtering in, flash high beams or show u the finger when they drive by, etc are just some of their problematic attitude.
Personally, I think they love people to crash into their rear. So they don’t give a damn whether they make sudden turns or sudden stops. Speaking of lost income, they are more than happy to file claims against your insurance. Adding in their lost of income and repair costs, which will usually come up to a huge sum of money. While they stay at home and happily shake their legs when they send in their vehicles in for repair. Not only are they endangering the lives of other road users especially motorcyclists, they are a pest to other road users as well.
I understand they have a family to feed, abide increasing rental and fuel costs, but that does not give them a reason to drive so recklessly. We all work for a living and dealing with stress are part and parcel of life. I just hope that taxi companies can really take serious action against those errant taxi drivers who think they are the kings of the road. I’m one of those road user pissed off by most attitude problematic taxi drivers too but nevertheless, ran into some pretty good ones too
to be safe, always ensure that you maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you..
U post this on both the taxi and car forum....can tell you certainly hate taxi drivers....
noted dat but too lazy to post a reply regading his double posting..
yo Ding Dong, just wondering watup even in stomp you posted your first virgin post as derek koh on this topic..... http://talkback.stomp.com.sg/forums/showthread.php?t=56454
My hate for taxi drivers dates back to 1979 when I rode motorbikes (almost died) . Over the years when I drive and ride I sitll HATE taxi drivers.
Now I am a taxi driver and I KNOW !!!
Let the Lord bless you to become one when you hate enough.
I think 10-wheel fella worst ....
those 10-wheels fella , their vehicle don't meant to be on the 2nd lane , yet they occupied like no people businesssess .
They are not meant to be dashing at beyond 60km/h , and have a device to stop from accelerating beyond 60km/h , but dunno how they do it , i driving 80km/h , they just overtook me .
When they blocking me , i overtook them , and they challenge me .
Crazy people la ...
when they help you fail your driving test, yeah i guess the hate takes on a really special meaning.it becomes an understatement.
The thread starter must possessed more road sense la ..... sorry if i offended u .
U know what is road senses , right ?
If a taxi is infront of your car u driving , u can " expect " them to stop for customers , anytime , deliberately or suddenly , right ? So my advice , when u see somebody from far , standing by the road side , either waiting for a taxi , or crossing the road , and a taxi is in front , prepare for it , keep a distance from the taxi infront of you .
If u are on the left lane , u expect vehicle to over take u from the right , right ? Any form of vehicle , either they are slow vehicles or they are filthering to other side roads , they have reasons . Taxi have a obvious reasons to keep left .
Thank God most cabbies uses signals to indicate their intensions and hazard lights for a halt , unlike civilians car drivers , used hazard lights and signals like going to kill them !!
So ..... if one cabby doesn't have road sense , don't follow this idiot , show them u have a better road sense then him . Don't go idiotic like him .

lol
bbdc teach me de
dun think they r as bad as woman drivers
Poolman, you got just the word to describe good drivers, "road sense". Practice does not makes perfect, look at some taxi drivers, everyday practice for at least 10 hours and their driving still not far from novice status.
A good footballer who has good football sense will become a great footballer. Likewise a good driver who COMMMITS to learn "road sense" will cause less unfortunate incidences on the roads. The driver might even, in the worst case scenario, won't be the cause of someone's loss of love ones.
