I just visited the SMRT Taxi website and I notice that there will be a $2 extra charge if there are four passengers in a SMRT Taxi.
Is it true, I don't think it is announce in the press.

i think the "equivalent" here doesn't mean 4 adults.. it means any other combination that becomes the same as more than 4 adults.. like 3 adults and 3 kids..

The link does state "for MORE THAN 4 adult passengers" - not "for 4 passengers"- for the $2 extra charge to be applicable, as Pitot has pointed out.
No issue for normal cabs then, since those have a sitting capacity of 4 adults anyway.
Beautiful951, of course more people need more petrol. heavier load mah. same as your refrigerator, washing machine heavier load consume more electricity. i tot this one common sense...
to put it simply, anything that is more than 4 commuters onboard the taxi, the extra $2 charge applies..
