nowdays...i feel that the singapore youngsters (those younger than me lah) cannot take hardships and will always rely on their parents...when i was giving PT to my juniors, most of them reported sick and could not really endure the pain like we did in the past...what's wrong with the young generation...issit because they are too pampered ... or because they are lack of hardship???
by the way, i hope that this is counted as a complain too -

our grandparents who survived the war complained our parents generation are better off without the war, our parents complain our generation are better off with more luxuries and relaxed style of parenting they given to us, our generation gonna complain the next generation are weaklings, ill bred and idiotic

well, in the current generation, maids are getting more common and thus kids grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth. of cos not all kids are like that. at the student care centre where i work, the kids there are very independent and diligent. they bathe, eat, wash dishes, do homework, all by themselves. it all depends on the environment they are brought up in. -

we are getting too comfortable with our affluence.
not to mention the comfort, protection and pampering in which kids grow up nowadays. -

people say they need to spend more time at work becos cost of living is so high in singapore...then they hire maid to take care of kids...it's a vicious cycle i would say..

well, in anyway, i wont blame the youngsters..
i blame their parents, i blame our generations and before..
its the older generations who set up the education system, and inculcate this system of mindless mugging of books, culture of kiasuism and so on..we who are in the middle are also on the receiving ends, also dont dare to complain or make no effort to change this sorta environment
sthu says it rite, its the environment which makes these kids good or bad..and only the older generations have the capabilty to create or change such an environment, but we didnt change it..so why all this "hate the kids" campaign going on..or labelling them weaklings and so on..and saying " i hate kids" so gleefully..in anyway, we are once kids ourselves, and prolly have been complained against by the even older gens -
