Meh, I think the main issue now is. since they have encountered the problem, what will be the take away lesson for them...IE: What can they do to prevent this issue... In the event of same scenario, what could they have done... Contingency plans etc etc...

I think that's just common sense. At some point there needs to be a major overhaul and you need to do disruptive engineering works, especially with the new trains that you say are MIC and heavier than before.

since u made mention... COI report indicated that new trains may not have any issue to it.. more of the MRT's Phase I's 3rd rail design flaw, lack of maintenance and maintenance regime not up to standard...
