  Has SBST ever tried MacCoffee? I don't drink coffee but we get a few bottles from the Food Empire AGM every year... it's the top-selling coffee in Russia and Central Asia.

  LOL! maybe maybe...i'm not so strict and it's still the same coffee bean. i got it for my sis when i was there the last time but never had the chance to try it out. anyway, i'm not much a coffee connoisseur so it's not a die die must have

  Most kopi luwak comes from farmed civets these days and that would be against vegan principles as far as I know.

  most vegans don't know that industrial farming causes a crapload of animal deaths... sometimes.. supposely, 25 times more animals are killed per kilogram of usable plant protein... and it gets worse.. monoculture in farming has wiped out so much local wildlife and flora that it is considered worse than letting cows/goats/sheep/local species go eat grass in the fields...

  and in harvesting and ploughing, small animals like field mice, moles, birds and other little critters are usually smashed by the plough, or whole communities are reduced to a red mist by the harvesters...

  so do think about it...

  I've read about that and shared it, but it isn't going to convert anyone straight away. To me the real problem lies with the way food is grown and distributed. We no longer grow and rear for sustinance but to profit from a small percentage of the world's population (and even the farmers).

  Vegans charge that we devote too much farmland to growing feed for animals, when it isn't part of their natural diet and shou;d've never been the case.
