Ah your back is not back in order yet? Takes a really long time to recover.. a colleague of mine is going for acunpuncture too at TTSH...
My weekend was messed up.....
I spent the whole Saturday helping the in-laws clean up their house after it got flooded. The water was shin-high on the first floor of their house, and one of their cats has gone missing.
The environment minister is gonna get questioned in Parliament today with regards to this.... and seriously, the 'Once in 50 years' claim cuts no ice with me.....
my back is okay but the stresses of public transportation kinda builds up...
and guess what? according to the MIW, we must all be at least a hundred years old each... so far, three "once in 50 years" has happened already...
it's no wonder i feel old and decrepit these days
morning everyone...
Had a unproductive weekend... >____>
I'm just sick and tired of hearing lame old excuses.
The rain on the days the floods broke out were unusually heavy, but they were by no means unprecedented. Sure, there's La Nina, but we've been through heavy occurences of that before. And yes, Vietnam got hit by a typhoon, but if we were to point to that as the cause of last Saturday's flood, then by right the whole Malaysian East Coast should have been much badly-battered.
Hell, anyone remembered when we got hit by a tropical storm ten years ago? That uprooted a few trees and flooded some low-lying areas, but not to the extent of the floods we've been having!

Tanah Merah.... near Simpang Bedok.....
I seriously wonder what the excuse will be this time....
'We are currently caught within a time dilation field, so 50 years seem to appear as 50 days to us.....'

nah they probably say the probability is now twice in 50 years
oh.. on saturday morning, there was debris strewn everywhere in Tanjong Katong road.. and also the road was pretty muddy...
the place must have flooded and the last bits were being cleared when i went through at abour 9:20am...
there was a minibus stalled and a tow-truck coming to pick it up, and on the other side, an ambulance was being towed away too...
Hey guys~
check this out~ spoof of wikipedia... damn funny~
I can't remember experiencing this much flooding in my entire life. My neck of the woods isn't known for being flood-prone until recently, and now the Bt Timah area is a certain casualty every time it happens. The explanation had better be good...
the only time it was this prone to flooding was when i was in sec school..
and that was in the early to mid 80s
BEFORE the major civil engineering which fixed the problem.. then
ho ho ho .... .
susie's kitchen got flooded cos we left the windows a wee bit open for the night .....
tookie had a nice swim?
*scratches head ......
dunno what to make of this ....

I ain't buying the La Nina or the Vietnamese typhoon explanations..... not when La Nina is an old phenomenon, or when the typhoon is 1000 clicks away....
I'm also not buying any 'weather patterns are changing' explanation.... I can still remember when we got hit by a tropical storm in 2001, with constant rain for days at end....
Surely they can come up with better bullsh*t than that....
I thought 2010's el nino ? ......
For the carnivore in all of us:

so so so odd. i mean if it was la nina or nino or whatever typhoon etc, it should have hit KL - i was there for a run on saturday and it was fine and dandy. in fact nary a sight of impending rain.
yawns...
