To directly affect you? I wouldn't think so. Possibly block sites, but that's a long shot. It's barely a 'working environment' if you get what I mean. So I guess there's still some freedom for surfers where you are.

I know of some fellas who downloaded movies freely using the campus network.
I also know of some fellas who surfed pr0n on the same network.
Anyway, from what I heard the IT administrators can monitor traffic on the campus network. It's just that for the most part, they couldn't be bothered to do anything about it.

Open networks, sure got it's leechers. What most of them fail to understand is, as it is already slow, they're making it slower for the casual users. Better off downloading stuff at home.
If it's small files and streaming, it's okay lah. I always tell off those buggers downloading shit in Lasalle's public network.

Might as well sign up for the mobile USB modem thing so he can use the laptop instead. I thought he already have data plan, but I still find it troublesome to surf the net on a phone browser.
