She was feeling guilty about making her father pay for a few hundred dollars' worth of stuff each time, and asked me for my advice to make her feel less guilty.
I advised her to pay her dad in cash upfront before buying anything using the supplementary card.... she complained that 'it defeats the purpose of the credit card leh...'
Seriously, what's so good about these 'games' that you have to shell out so much money for them?
A FEW HUNDRED?!

Somehow, I was doing tons of side quests, finally went to meet Three Dog to put up the radio in DC, a few hours later stumbling upon Vault 112 and rescuing my 'dad' from a virtual environment, heading down to Rivet City, taking the lab geeks down to Jefferson's, work on Project Purity for like 15 real life minutes only to have the Enclave take it over and indirectly causing my 'dad's' death.
All this happened in a space of 1-2 hours. So much for finding 'dad' after so long.
Then I learnt Power armor training, wore them for about half a day till I got this... amazing suit.
The Chinese Stealth Armor
Comes with +10 to Sneak, but has a hidden buff, when sneaking/crouching, it generates a weak stealth field pretty much like the Stealth Boy. Oh it stacks too.
Took some screenshots.

Don't look at me, man.
Just for the heck of it, I created a free account and 'visited' her character just to see what the fuss was all about.
Apparently, you can buy 'furniture' and other stuff on the game.
But that said, I exclaimed to her.... 'You spent a few hundred ON ALL THIS?!?!'
Okay, one correction: she spent a few hundred total. But that's still a few hundred too much, IMO.

I'll only spend, if I can feel I can profit from it in time to come. Like account, item sales etc etc. And of course time wasted/money spent ratio plays a big part. But hundreds a go, frequently, is abit...
Abit too much. It's beyond addiction, they're overcompensating, from my point of view, because they achieve more success and/or treated better, more friends, better social 'life' in virtual reality. People like that are willing to spend a fortune on games, much like people who spend loads on food, alcohol, shopping, hobbies etc.

But I switch around, just incase some fumbducks show up with big guns so I can tank a few extra hits.

Oh well.... at least in the end she gave up the game.
But she couldn't recoup the hundreds she spent, though.
