so cannot karaoke this weekend?
I dun understand e ppl at ST Forums writing abt bus delays
they claim now everywhere bus lane no reason for them to be delayed by jam.. thing is, the buses are forever going straight, never need to filter right to turn right?
don't get me going about bus services .....
it's seriously farked up nowadays .... nevermind the crowding during peak hours ... I like to stagger my appointments till after peak hours, so I don't have to "kueh" .....
but what happens then ?!?! .... I sometimes have to wait for a blardy half an hour for a bus !!! ....
I suspect that the operators sneakily tweaked the frequency of buses with less number of non-peak riders ....
I waited for an average of 20 minutes for no. 75 right outside my house, and it's only a few stops away from the terminal, so no such bullshit as it got stuck onto traffic somewhere ....
other buses were the same, 67, 700, etc .....
oh sure .... a $4500 peanuts fine is going to make them wake up their idea ....
*ptui ! ....

for SMRT, their travelling time allocated is f-up. I remembered Sv 67 getting only like 100 mins to clear when I calculated it takes abt 130 mins at least at 40 - 45kph (if take into consideration time at bus stop, traffic junctions).
eh, SMRT only got $1000 fine
as for SBS, there's one case tat was unfair because PTC allowed SMRT to withdraw a bus service tat had full capacity, leading to Sv 196 left to serve ppl bet Marine Parade & Shenton Way - hence tis recorded 10 overloaded trip
As for tat 'no reason for bus to be late since it's just from bus terminal' is also bull shit... wat happens if the other direction had incident i.e. dead fall? e poor buses can't move and e poor driver's break is all eaten up, he has to start another trip immedatety after alighting everyone. as again, it should not be a daily affair either

I really suspect they tweak the frequency of buses to maximize profits ....
drag out the frequency so that they'll have more riders on each bus ....
this is getting really out of hand ... the non-peak hour frequency plastered onto the bus-stops stated 11 to 13 minutes ... I have to wait at least 20 minutes at the bus stop .... and that's not counting making my way there, during which I see no bus coming around ....
sure ... this kind of peanuts fine is really going to make them wake up their ideas ....

for SMRT's cases I'm not too sure
cos their travelling time allocated is alrdy f- up

over-crowding on buses, actual frequency != stated frequency ....
channel 8 now... malaysia tourism programme :)

Ah, thanks...
I would imagine that, realistically, traffic conditions on SG roads would make adhering to any kind of bus route schedule somewhat of a pipe dream.

overloading
SBS: Sv 7, 8, 10, 16, 21, 28, 58, 59, 90, 97, 145, 196, 198, 246, 254, 255 for overloading
SMRT only had 925 recorded (but Svs like 190 never got recorded for 1 special reason - usage of long articulated buses which no one bothers to move in, ends up w/ ppl left behind at bus stops)
Buses late: SBS Sv 36, 57 & 229
SMRT 'cleared' tis standard

actually they have bus lane can only solve straight road movement
whenever e buses need to make a right turn, it would be stucked in a jam or ppl wun give way at times
MG like I've mentioned just now, SMRT gives unrealistic bus travelling timing for its schedule... tat's why its driver tend to speed and lots of accident cases comes from them

the 75 service that I most often catch ... starts outside bukit panjang plaza, it is just three stop away from cashew rd where I catch it. and I have never ever ever ever seen a jam along that stretch of bukit panjang ... certainly not during non-peak hours ....
there is no way in hell, if the buses get despatched on time with the right frequencies at the terminal, that I have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a bus, when the stated frequency is 11-13 minutes off-peak ....
just the other day, I came out srubbed and smelling nice at around 9.40am .... I only caught the bus at nearly 10.20am, but the time I was an angry, stewing, sweat-soaked mess .... I was also late for my appointment ...this is getting out of hand ......
