Not really true these days lehAnd parking is not free...it's 'free' because it's in the much higher monthly maintanence you have to pay to the condo management
And selection of neighbours is a hit or miss lor
You read the papers so many ppl in condo with bad neighbours also
Nicer finishing and materials I rather custom make my HDB coz I get to choose. Those build in ones if I dun like also hack away....waste money nia

and I think the average singaporean neighbour is an inconsiderate arsehole who's only too quick to jump onto others when others are inconsiderate in turn ......

depends on how you see it... problem with neighbors (not only condos but HDBs) is they dun know how to do communal living. basically dun do onto others what you dun want others to do onto you.Condo Example - neighbor's daughter always practice piano very early on saturdays or late at night weekdays, non issue until the fact they loved to leave the front door open... noise travels down the corridor, this could be easily resolved by closing the door when practice piano.
HDB Example - downstairs neighbor dry clothes whole bloody day, when upstairs neighbor hang out clothes after lunch, drip a bit, downstairs neighbor use bleach and spray upstairs neighbor's laundry.

talking about being anal... last year.. i was helping out my friend to take his friend's wedding pictures, it's sunday at 830am... we were at the bride's place "negotiating entrance fees", can you beat that... one of the neighbors called the police and complained that we were too noisy. OMG, i hope that neighbor does not have an ceremony or event at 830am, else i will be the first one to complain back... :Doh.. it was a HDB block and the main road outside is more noisy.
