Can't speak for the states, but here in Minnesota, motorists pay an annual auto license registration fee, the amount of which is pegged to the residual value of the vehicle. Minnesota used to have one of the highest auto license fees in the US, until Jesse Ventura passed a law when he was governor to reduce the fee to $100/year when the vehicle is three or more years old.Originally posted by the Bear:now they have two official liars

it's just that the tax dollars are going towards supporting legions of welfare bums and such ....
I took a drive downtown into the ghetto the other night at 4am .... just to show ex-dearling how the "other people" lived on the other side of the town .... you see kids, 6, 8, 10 year olds running wild on the streets, so many of them walking around, you see baby in prams, while their mothers walk home from the bingo hall, you see teenagers carrying babies, you see emanciated street walkers flashing their flabby tits at you from the intersections, you get people coming up to you at the lights asking if you'd like some weed, you see shuttered shops with barred windows like a prison ....
and the goverment pays them hundreds a month, plus hundreds more for each child born out of wedlock ....
meantime, people die every winter cos the roads were not salted enough, or flip over from potholes not fixed ... -
