The majority of Team Leaders in my ward are All Talk - No Action types. Only three of them will roll up their sleeves and help you. I found out that here, talk gets you everywhere because if you work quietly, you will just disappear into the woodwork but if you always talk optimistically and appear cheerful and always say upbeat things, you'll be the apple of everyone's eyes! Better still if you pepper your sentences with 'darl' (darling) or 'luv'... they absolutely fall for you! -

I find it quite ... hypocritical. I mean, everyone is 'luv'. I usually call my patients by their first names, but they brighten up when my colleagues come in and greet them in some exaggerated manner (like Stepford wives) and address them as 'luv'.
Maybe, I might learn to take a huge breath and gulp and maybe call them 'sweet'. pukes... -

Yeah! It's quite irritating! I can stand IN FRONT of a group chatting away about boyfriends and vacations and I have WORK-RELATED issues I need help with NOW and they'll just ignore you and continue yakking and yakking and if you interrupt them halfway, if you don't smile broadly enough and say super sweet stuff like, "Gee, I hate to interrupt your party, hahaha, but I really do need some help with this..." or something cheong hei like that, you'll be labelled as 'curt' / 'rude' / 'inappropriate'.Originally posted by Wanda:Good morning, folks!
