My mom would boil ikan bilis with soy beans to make the soup base...and we'll have the usual prawns, fish (lots of white pomfret), pork, liver, and 2 types of the fishy stuff ( " herr kiao " in teochew, and the other one wrapped around a strip of carrot and spring onion), fish balls, tang orh vegetable, etc. But we haven't had it at home for years coz it's too tiring for mom to prepare.Originally posted by honeymouse:What do you usually have for your homemade steam boat?
