A recent article found at The New Foreign Policy argues that, like it or not, the vegetarian revolution is upon us and it is arriving by force. The article centers not on the moral or ethical debate for an animal-free diet but rather supports the logical conclusion to a meat filled world, total environmental destruction. Here’s a sample:
The numbers suggest that we won’t stop eating meat simply because it’s “the right thing to do.” People love it too much. Instead, we’ll be forced to stop. By 2025, we simply won’t have the resources to keep up the habit. According to the FAO report, 33 percent of the world’s arable land is devoted to growing crops for animal feed, and grazing is a major factor in deforestation around the world. It’s also incredibly water-intensive. The average U.S. diet requires twice the daily amount of water as does an equally nutritious vegetarian diet, reports the Worldwatch Institute. Meanwhile, there will be more than 8 billion people on this earth, and two-thirds of the world’s population will live in water-stressed regions.

Be it meat or vegies, most of what we eat today are ugly behind the curtain. That is if you buy your food instead of growing them. -

Ha ha...... what kind of logic is this ? May be you do not know many rich guys. I know a few super rich ones. They are close to vegetarian and very careful of what they eat because they are afraid of dying early. There is a saying, the more money a person has, the more he is afraid of dying. 越有钱越怕æ». -

My friend said there was once she poured hot water on raw pork and she saw many small worms coming from the pork. Ever since then, she avoids eating meat. She asked me to do this "experiment" if I don't believe her. I've yet to try.

Some muslims tell this story n ask ppl to try n find out..Cos muslims dun eat pork. Pork unclean to them. They wanna prove pork gt many microorganism bad for health.
The malays laughed at me for eating pork. unclean meat.

Also gt one type is cancer still want eat meat cos days r numbered mah.Like my relative said no fish I cannot live. ( not the cancerous one)

There was once I turn to channelnewsasia and Jamie Oliver was interviewing someone running an factor farming. the farmer was so sad because the animals are suffering badly but they are real living beings. But due to the large food companies controlling them and the debt they owed, they can't do anything. It was heart breaking.

Basically, If you're eating meat, you are in the environmental banned list as you are affecting the environment and also eating those chemicals, shits, urine, maggots and many more in the animals too...
