My longest chanting time is abt 30 minutes.
I start from 5 minutes slowly build up to 30 minutes. Starting my concetration is not so good.
Aim is to chant 1 hour at least.
Buddha only advice for this in the vow. Probably, an unsurpassed loving kindness of not giving unduly tense to living beings :D
According to Master Ou-I, for pureland rebirth, the fundamental is built on faith and vow, while concentration is the level of achievement for the rebirth in Pureland.
Your gradual method is perfectly in tune.

When
I become a Buddha, the living beings in the ten directions, when they
hear my Name, sincerely and happily have faith in my Name and in every
thought transfer all their good roots so as to be born in my Land. If
there are only ten such thoughts and if they are unable to be born in my
Land, I will not attain The Proper Enlightenment. Excepting those who
have committed the five evil deeds and who have slandered The Proper
Dharma.

18 Vowing
that living beings are certainly to obtain a rebirth in his Land if
they are able to be mindful of Him in 10 successive thoughts
I chant with beads. I chant 10 rounds but did not time how long it takes. I chant very fast so it does not take very long.
