From what I understand Eskimo Buddhism is a "bridge" belief between the orient and the occident. The term 'Eskimo' designates the Inuit, inhabitants of the top of the planet. These people are orientals yet they "live" in North America (Canada and Alaska) implying that the traditional Buddhist belief system may be bridged by the migration of these people via the solidness of the northern ice flows.
Buddhism embraces several non-modern principles and shuns wealth and wealth generation as an example.
Eskimo Buddhism seems to represents the 'accomplished' individual who has no reason to live impoverished in a modern value system YET wishes to contribute and identify himself as a Buddhist.

å¸ ä½›è¦�怎麼å¸ï¼Ÿå®—é–€å¸¸è¬›ï¼šã€Œå¾žæ ¹æœ¬ä¿®ã€�ï¼Œæ ¹æœ¬å°±æ˜¯ä¸€å¿µä¸�生,心地清淨沒有一切念é 。若有個「我ç�¾åœ¨ä¸€å¿µä¸�生ã€�,就已經生了一個「一念ä¸�生ã€�的念é ,這就錯 了。åˆ�叿™‚,宗門用盤腿é�¢å£�的方法,å¸ä¸�起心ã€�ä¸�動念,ä¸�分別ã€�ä¸�åŸ·è‘—ã€‚å¸æˆ�之後,è¦�在生活當ä¸åŽ»æ·é�Šï¼Œå…æ ¹æŽ¥è§¸å…塵境界,ä¸�起心ã€�ä¸�動念,ä¸�分別ã€�ä¸�執 著,這就æˆ�åŠŸäº†ï¼Œæ¤æ™‚所有境界都是一真法界。一真法界沒有離開å��法界ã€�å…é�“ã€�三途,所以法界æ‰�稱作一真。若真的有å��法界ã€�å…é�“ã€�三途,法界怎能稱作一真? 故轉變在心,轉變在èª�知,èª�è˜å¢ƒç•Œçš„實相,就是èª�清宇宙人生的真相。
「來也空空,去也空空ã€�æ„�æ€�很深,能èª� è˜æ¸…楚,就會很æ¡å–œæŽŒæ�¡ç·£ï¼Œæˆ�就無é‡�的功德,所謂是ç©�功累德。凡夫錯èª�äº†å¢ƒç•Œï¼Œé€ ä½œç½ªæ¥ï¼Œä½†é€ 罪ä¸�是有æ„�的。佛講所有一切罪æ¥çš„æ ¹æº�是愚痴,痴就是ä¸�了解 事實真相,æ‰�會å�šéŒ¯äº‹æƒ…,用錯緣。覺悟之人了解事實真相,所以起心動念ã€�一切作為都是ç©�功累德。ç©�功累德是世人的概念,覺悟的人沒有這個念é 。å��法界的眾 生有這個念é ,一真法界的佛è�©è–©æ²’有這個念é ,所謂「作而無作,無作而作ã€�。

Can’t agreed with you more regarding ‘whether Buddhists are doing their part in educating and informing the masses about the essence of the teaching and how to apply it in their lives’ and also ‘the countless misinformation and misunderstandings about the Buddhist teaching and practices with those knowing these error not coming forward to correct the mistakes.
Sometime you just feels that most are so pre-occupied with their own self-cultivation that the simply Lord Buddha saying that ‘The Gift of the Dhamma Excel all Gifts’ have just flown out of the window. Or is it a case of the misinterpretation of pre-destiny and as such, it is a case of ‘Each man for himself’?
