BIOGRAPHY OF His Eminence Khochhen Rinpoche
His Eminence Jurme Dogyud Gyatso, well-known as Khochhen Rinpoche, was born in 1937 at Gonjo Dodrup in eastern Tibet. Since his early childhood, Rinpoche has been exhibiting various spiritual qualities. As such, the great eighth throne holder of Minling Khenchen Ngawang Khentse Norbu recognized, and subsequently blessed him as the reincarnation of venerable Namdrol Sangpo Rinpoche of Khochhen Monastery. The elder brother of Khyentse ChÅ‘kyi Lodrö, Tersay Chimed Rinpoche, presided over his enthronement ceremony at Khochhen monastery.
At Mindrolling in Tibet, Rinpoche studied and mastered Buddhist philosophy, psychology, tantras, astrology, poetry, literature, calligraphy and rituals. He received profound teachings and instructions from eminent masters such as Dzongsar Khyentse ChÅ‘kyi Lodrö, Minling Chung Rinpoche and Minling Khenchen Rinpoche.
After the Communist invasion in 1959, at the age of 22, Rinpoche escaped into exile in India through the southern part of Bhutan with H. H. Trichen Rinpoche and his seven aides. Later, with H. E. Paltrul Jamphel Lodoe Rinpoche, he founded Mindrolling Monastery in 1965 at Clement town, Dehradun, in the northern India.
In the following years, he established Woesling Retreat Center and Ngagyur Nyingma College. He also renovated and developed the branch monastery in Kalimpong, and established five Mindrolling Dharma centres in Taiwan.Rinpoche is the principal administrator of the monastery that provides free religious education, food, clothing, shelter, medical facilities and other necessities to more than 500 monks. He is also the general secretary of the great Nyingma Annual Prayer [Nyingma Monlam Chenmo] in Bodh Gaya.
After Parinirvana of H. H. Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, H. E. Khochhen Rinpoche was appointed as the general secretary of International Nyingmapa Community. Besides that, Rinpoche is the director of local Tibetan settlement, Dhondupling since 1989. Under his leadership, the settlement now boasts a clinic, a school, the better water supply and roads, and aids for the poor. He also gives spiritual and moral support to the local Tibetans. With all of his unconventional dedications and self-less services, Khochhen Rinpoche is revered and held as one of the celebrated figures in Tibetan Buddhism in general and those of ‘Nyingmapa Tradition’ in particular.

Vajrasattva is Buddha of primordial purity and is the condensed essence of the 100 peaceful and wrathful appearances that arises in the Bardo. Vajrasattva practice is an essential element in the daily practice of a Vajrayana practitioner as it helps in purifying all sorts of negativities and bad karma. He is known as the king of purification.
The Vajrasattva empowerment would be conferred based on the cycle of terma (treasure) teachings discovered by Minling Terdag Lingpa. Receiving this empowerment brings great blessing, creates strong bond with Vajrasattva, and in this way it is also very helpful in performing the meditation of Vajrasattva as a part of the preliminary practices and allow you to carry on Vajrasattva’s main practice.

Benefits of Making Lamp Offering
Lamp offering symbolizes the light of wisdom dispelling the darkness of ignorance, in order to attain Buddha's luminous clear wisdom. It is also a skilful method to encourage harmony and generate merit while promoting success, prosperity, longevity, peace and love, as well as helping to avert obstacles, pacify the upheaval of the five elements and heal diseases. The enlightened ones do not require the offering of light, this is a means for us to dispel the darkness of our own ignorance and to clear our obscurations and defilements.

Vajrasattva Jang Chog Puja 超度亡者法会
JANG CHOG means "Purification Ceremony." It is a skilful Vajrayana practice for purifying the negative karma of those who have died, and transferring their consciousnesses to a Pure Land. It can liberate beings from the lower realms, and can benefit those who have died recently and are in the intermediate state on their way to a lower rebirth, by changing their rebirth to the human realm or a Pure Land. In that way, those beings have a chance once again to meet the Dharma and meet a fully qualified virtuous friend. At the same time, the ashes or remains of the deceased can be blessed, so they actually become holy objects, at which time they can then be placed in holy objects like stupas and statues. This becomes highly beneficial for the deceased and for those family or friends left behind, because every time they make offerings such as flowers or lights and pay respects to the deceased, they create a great deal of merit.
