First, before a teaching or practice, we always establish motivation. In Mahayana or Vajrayana – the Liberation of all beings from suffering.
Today we discuss the immutable Seven Line Prayer. In Nyingma, this is the King of Prayers. In fact, it is a complete Puja in itself.

Within are contained Refuge, Bodhicitta, making offerings, request for blessing and samaya. The prayer has three levels of meaning.
The three levels are Outer, Inner, and Secret. The Secret level should not be taught until an aspirant has accumulated 300,000 repetitions!

The Two Eyes of Your Practice
http://www.tibetanbuddhistaltar.org/2010/07/the-two-eyes-of-your-practice/
thanks RU45! Very wonderful prayer, full of blessings and especially if one is having a lot of obstacles (whether mundane or spirit-related ) at that period of time, this prayer to Guru Rinpoche returns you to an even perspective, clarity and helps you to break through. Anyone can recite, but better to have a transmission from a master.
This prayer may seem to be an invocation to the Buddha called Guru Rinpoche but actually it has inner level of meanings right up to the ultimate nature of mind and Dzogchen. There are Dzogchen teachings just based on this prayer.
It is very profound and the vajra words of Buddha.
