Avalokiteshvara's single face:
symbolizes all the manifestations originating from the single source of Dharmakaya
His pure white body:
symbolizes that he is faultless
His four arms:
symbolize that he has accomplished the four immeasurables (immeasurable love, compassion, joy and equanimity).
The folding of the pair of hands at his heart:
symbolizes the indivisibility of method and wisdom
The Wish-fulfilling Gem between his folded hands:
symbolizes his ability to benefit all sentient beings
The face of Amitabha Buddha on his crown:
symbolizes Avalokiteshvara is under the Lotus family; and the head of the enlightened family is Amitabha Buddha
His crossed vajra sitting posture:
symbolizes his firm and stable commitment to liberate all sentient beings
The antelope skin on his shoulder:
symbolizes his great compassion. It was recorded that the antelope had sacrificed his own life for others. Avalokiteshvara has such a quality of self-sacrifice
The counting of the crystal rosary in his upper right hand:
symbolizes that he is liberating all sentient beings without leaving anyone behind
The lotus flower in his upper left hand:
symbolizes that the Enlightened being (Avalokiteshvara) is in Samsara, but he is not affected by Samsaric forces
