THE SCRUM NETWORK
SCRUM is a new website initiative by the ACS OBA to turn the ACS alumni into a connected and thus, strengthened, community - like a rugby scrum. Interest and activity in this community will be promoted through cohort driven networking.
SCRUMÂ’s unique approach is to harness the ties that already exist between different groups or cohorts of ACSians. By pooling each ACSianÂ’s information of their ACS friends into SCRUMÂ’Â’s database we hope to rapidly build up the overall connectivity of our alumni.
HOW SCRUM WORKS
We have compiled a database of the names of all the alumni that have graduated each year from the ACS schools: ACS Secondary School and Pre-U, ACJC, ACS (Independent) and ACS (Barker Road).
A cohort ACSians is defined by the ACS school and year of graduation.
When you are in SCRUM you will be able to see the list of people from your cohort. If you have contact information or news of them, let your Cohort Leader know and he will invite them to join and update their status.
As each ACSian who joins SCRUM shares his or her friendsÂ’ contact information, more and more of our alumni base will get connected and hopefully the pace of connections will grow exponentially.
ITÂ’S EASY TO JOIN SCRUM
You only need to tell us to which cohort you belong. You do not have to be a member of the ACS OBA.
When you send us your details through the website, a Cohort Leader will confirm your status against SCRUMÂ’s database for your cohort and then provide you with a password to get into SCRUM.
IN THE SCRUM YOU CAN:
· Update your profile.
· Get contact information for friends from your cohort.
· Join and form interest group distribution lists.
· Get news from and share your own with your friends and interest groups.
· Get news of the ACS community and schools.
Equally important we hope that you will:
· Share contact information of other cohort members so that we can invite them to get in the SCRUM.
· Tell other ACSians about SCRUM.
· Volunteer to be a Cohort Leader.
SCRUM COHORT LEADERS
Cohort Leaders are needed from each cohort year and perform these critical tasks:
· Validate the registration of new cohort members.
· Contact other cohort members to invite them to join SCRUM.
· Collect and provide snippet news and updates of cohort members.
