Anyone knows of any nice churches? Went to Sacred Heart before and it's very very nice inside, very cosy. Espicially with the mix of the old beautiful architechure and mordern lights and sound system. With the old tabernacle still in the middle. Most probably the most beautiful church in Singapore.
Anyone else knows of nice churches??
How about Saint Mary of the angels in Bukit Batok.
It's been rebuilt and I heard now it has become a beautiful church.
But I'ven't been there since the rebuilding was still in progress.
too modern.. i heard it has been awarded for its building or smething.. but the carpark looks errie and the colobarium is there... the main church's floor is steep, no good for old people.
I hate modern architecture LOL especially for churches.
I like St. Joseph's Church at Victoria St., it's one of the oldest church in Singapore.
yeah. St Joseph's Church, nice architechure but too bad it's not beautifully decorated. I still prefer Sacred Heart nicely decorated with a traditional architechure. How nice if there's a tridinetine mass there. Beautiful..

Why are there so many Catholic Churches crowded around St Peter and Paul area?
hi honeybunz..
those days.. there were many missionaries came to singapore .. the french MEP who built the Cathedral of teh good shepherd.. St. Joseph belong to the diocese of Macau.. also belong to another religious order?? and later handed over to the singapore diocese.. That's why so many eurasian catholics of portuguese origin were baptized there.. macau once a portugese colony.. Our lady of lourdes were built to cater for the indian catholics.. Sacred heart church for the cantonese catholics form hong kong?? As a result, all were built pretty close to each other as these parishioners were living side by side.. hope that helps
