hahaha ... trust me, I know the so-called 'legal' Masses are few and far between ...Originally posted by Icemoon:I believe there are such Masses .. just not conducted by the parish priests and definitely not publicized.
For example .. the 'illegal' SSPX Masses and some other 'legal' Masses conducted by priests in good standing with Rome, albeit on a much smaller scale .. ahem.
those confirm no schola participation right?Originally posted by catinthehat:hahaha ... trust me, I know the so-called 'legal' Masses are few and far between ...
Thanks bro! Saw the message.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:PM-ed you.
About the SFX Youth Choir, I absolutely agree!Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Today's Mass was wonderful! We had the Youth Choir from the Church of St Francis Xavier in attendance, and they sang the Post-Communion beautifully.
What are you talking about? This is only the 11th day of the year!Originally posted by catinthehat:Please also try to come on 16 Jan at 7.30 pm. The way things are now, that's your last chance this year to attend a legal Tridentine Mass in Singapore.
Hmm .. how come you know so much?Originally posted by catinthehat:Obviously, most people would not recommend attending illegal tridentine masses. The singing sucks at that place anyway
Yes I was there on a couple of occasions. However, I realised that is not a good place at all. It is lots of factors - not just the illegal masses. I know people who, having spent some time there, refuse to go back there again.Originally posted by Icemoon:Hmm .. how come you know so much?
You been there?
Hee hee.Originally posted by Icemoon:What are you talking about? This is only the 11th day of the year!
lol .. you are kinda open minded.Originally posted by catinthehat:Yes I was there on a couple of occasions. However, I realised that is not a good place at all. It is lots of factors - not just the illegal masses. I know people who, having spent some time there, refuse to go back there again.
I found it. Near Orchard Road.Originally posted by catinthehat:actually you can just do a google search.
You can certainly go there out of curiosity, but bear in mind that any new faces will be immediately pounced upon
However, like I said, I don't encourage anyone to attend Masses there. There are simply too many bad things about that place, many of which are not immediately apparent.
The answer is YES!!Originally posted by Icemoon:Too many bad things .. hmm I heard they are not really friendly people .. but wonder got chio bu there or not?
no wonder heh .. it is either beauty or intelligence .. they cant have both!Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:The answer is YES!!
well they can give you a lot a lot of attention! Obviously, if the community is small, any new faces will be spotted immediatelyOriginally posted by Icemoon:Well, they can pounce on me. I am neither a Catholic nor Protestant. What can they do to me?
you must have suffered in their hands!Originally posted by catinthehat:well they can give you a lot a lot of attention! Obviously, if the community is small, any new faces will be spotted immediately
Generally they are friendly. Once you are noticed you can be sure you will receive personal attention, and they will start selling koyok to you, hee hee.Originally posted by Icemoon:you must have suffered in their hands!
I take this as a test for them. How do they react to strangers?
Actually, I want to see the kind of chio bu sgmacross says they have.
I like mixing with different denominations of Christians. I have no taboo, I go to different services. If you talk about Protestants, they don't even want to go to services conducted by other churches. I think this is very sad, 'cos different denominations have different things to offer. Even the Tridentine is an experience for me.Originally posted by catinthehat:Generally they are friendly. The type of chio bu ah, confirm you won't find any sexy miniskirt gals there more like the very conservative type, got veil, long skirt etc etc.
Yes, u've grasp it better than some catholics. Next u muz check out the Sts Peter and Paul's Masses that we do (see Schola's events) and you can compare and contrast.Originally posted by Icemoon:And by attending the Tridentine, I could see what Christian service (Mass) is and should be - the sacrifice of Christ. In comparison, the holy communion is dumbed down in Protestant churches, and communion in mega churches seems like a joke to me.
they wear veil? even during the Jan Tridentine, I don't see young girls wearing veil leh. Mostly older women.
Hmm .. maybe sgmacross likes those kind of girls lah.
Yup, will pay a visit to Peter and Paul church.Originally posted by catinthehat:Yes, u've grasp it better than some catholics. Next u muz check out the Sts Peter and Paul's Masses that we do (see Schola's events) and you can compare and contrast.
Interestingly the veil is the *only* similarity I find with more traditional Protestant churches. Don't count the Anglican denomination lah.Originally posted by catinthehat:Wearing veil in church for women is no longer part of the Catholic church rules - it used to be.
hmm.... i thought sgmacross likes dragon boater type?
